Explore Cartagena's Highlights

Your local guide will pick you up from your accommodation to begin your private walking tour of Cartagena’s highlights. The Caribbean weather, colonial architecture and Caribbean flair will keep you more than occupied. If that’s not enough, the city is shrouded in history and fascinating stories from when the Spanish first discovered gold in the tombs of Sinu to the five dreadful sieges on the city by pirates in the 16th century, including the most famous (or infamous) one which was led by Sir Francis Drake!
Nowadays, as you’ll find out while walking through its pleasant and colorful streets Cartagena is among one of the world’s most beautiful cities. You will also visit the Bazuto market where you will learn about Cartagena Culture with the locals. You will be surprised by the way in which locals move around this beautiful city and, if you are one of those who like to do something different or perhaps something you’ve never done, this is your best option. This excursion offers you the possibility to try some of the most desired street foods in Colombia in the old town. Part of the Rosario Island Archipelago Nature Reserve, Isla Majagua provides the perfect barefoot luxury escape from the world as you sunbathe on the heavenly Caribbean beaches and walk among the coconut trees. Protected by a barrier reef, the island is ideal for swimming and snorkeling. With just one boat making the journey to the island every day, there are rarely more than a handful of people on Isla Majagua, allowing you to enjoy the beaches and crystal clear Caribbean waters.

Day 4 - Santa Marta

Journey to Santa Marta

A private transfer take you in about 5 hours from Cartagena to Santa Marta. Santa Marta is the oldest city in Colombia and one of the first cities founded in Latin America, you’ll have time to settle in to your accommodation. The rest of the day is free to spend at leisure, exploring the area near to where you’re staying and soaking up the city’s perfect combination of pristine beaches and history. Walk around the historical center or along the bay, and get the vibe of this quiet city before sitting down to a refreshing cocktail while watching the sunset over the Caribbean.

Day 5 - Santa Marta

Santa Marta at leisure

Today is free for you to explore the city and the surroundings of Santa Marta. There are many things to do, from leisurely strolls through the old city, to more adventure in nearby villages. Taganga is a small fishing village and perhaps most famous for its impressive views of the Caribbean and surrounding mountains. It’s well known for scuba diving and snorkeling. Enjoy walking the tiny town or unwind on Playa Grande, Bonito Gordo, or Bahia Cocha. Minca is a peaceful little village in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains,
only half an hour by car from Santa Marta, has become popular with travelers in recent years. Hosting a cooler climate and refreshing mountain streams, waterfalls, coffee and cacao farms. Another great option A great option is to have lunch or dinner at Marina Santa Marta.

Day 6 - Tayrona

Exploring the beaches and surroundings of Tayrona

Today your private transfer will take you to your hotel located close to Tayrona National Park. Depending on your choice of comfort level, you will stay in either Casa Tayrona los Narajos or Villa Maria. Both are located close to each other and right next to the Tayrona National Park. Surrounded by pristine jungle and right on the coast, you will be able to rest, enjoy the beach and the trails around the hotel and feast on the local cuisine.

Day 7 - Tayrona

Exploring Tayrona National Park

Your private transfer will take you along Colombia’s Caribbean coastline to Tayrona National Park. Arriving in Tayrona, the transfer will drop you off at the main entrance of the National Park, where you will start a gentle 45-minute hike through the jungle to the area of Arrecifes. If you want to save your energy from the walk you can also rent a horse. Along the way you’ll be able to see all types of flora a fauna including monkeys which are just some of the 108 other species that live within the Tayrona National Park.
Optionally you can hike for another 20 minutes to La Piscina, a natural pool where you can bathe and snorkel in the warm, crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. You can then decide whether to spend the rest of your day relaxing on the deserted beach of Cabo San Juan del Guia. In the afternoon you will walk back to the main entrance where your transfer will be waiting for you to take you back to your hotel
