Inside Two Brazilian Amazon Lodges

We recently teamed up with The View South to  film the wonderful adventures CAT clients enjoy throughout South America. Currently, the very talented videographer (and founder of The View South), Richard, is making his way through Brazil. He began his journey in the Amazon, the so-called green lung of the Earth, which boasts the largest collection of living plants and animal species in the world. After a few days at the EcoPark and Juma Lodge, he sent back pictures of the amazing animals he saw, people he met and lodges he enjoyed before heading to Rio de Janeiro. We felt he just had to share these teasers of the wonderful footage to come! Enjoy!

The Juma lodge sits rights in the thick of the forest, and is built entirely on stilts to accommodate the flooding season when the river can rise up to 40 feet!

Richard found a friendly companion during his stay! You’ll be able to spot many different types of monkeys in this part of the Amazon.

There are many different adventures to enjoy, such as jungle walks, an overnight in the jungle and wildlife spotting night tours by boat.

Below are some stills from the upcoming footage of…..

Piranha fishing! Or, for the very brave, you can swim with them as well.

Cue the “awwwwwws!” These furry buddies are are perfect cuddle material.

Are gators your thing? Hop aboard a boat for an alligator spotting tour!

The “meeting of the waters” is an incredible phenomenon to witness. When the black waters of the Rio Negro meet the muddy waters of the Amazon, the temperature, density and speed cause the waters to run beside each other for a bit instead of mixing.

Here, an Amazon EcoPark Lodge guide leads a rain forest tour. Below, is an ideal spot in the lodge for lunch with a view.
