Mendoza Wine Valley
Travel Guide

vineyards with snowy mountains in the background

While Mendoza might be most well known for its wine production, it is in fact also a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Situated at the gateway to the Andes mountains and close to Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak in South America, Mendoza is ideal for those wishing to engage in some adventure sports. Tackle the rapids on a white water rafting expedition down the Mendoza River, test your steel with a climb up the slopes of Aconcagua, or if you’re just in the mood for some light activity, why not go deep into the Andes with a local gaucho on horseback to watch the sunset with an asado, or typical Argentine barbeque, prepared in the traditional manner and washed down with some local wine. Whatever you decide to do, prepare to indulge yourself to the extreme, because Mendoza is a place for those who enjoy the finer things in life.
